From September 11th to 13th, 2025, the "Global Conference on the Scientific Utilization and Development Saline-Alkali Soils and the Fourth International Saline Soil Network (INSAS) Conference" was held in Dunhuang, Gansu.

The was jointly organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and China Agricultural University, and jointly sponsored by the People's Government of Dunhuang City, China Ecological Environment Technology Co., Ltd., and the National Saline-Alkali Land Integrated Utilization Technology Innovation Center. Professor Hu Shuwen of the School Resources and Environment of China Agricultural University served as the chairman of the conference, and Ms. Nora Berrahmouni, Deputy Director of the Land and Water Resources Department of FAO, served as the vice chairman of the conference, responsible for the overall coordination and academic planning of the conference.

The conference includes keynote reports, technical discussions, and visits. Domestic and foreign experts will explore key issues such as the surveying and monitoring of saline-alkali soils and the cultivation of salt-tolerant crops, focusing the sustainable management and governance of salinized soils.
